Snow, Cemetery, and Frost

A couple weeks back, while Dad and Mom were visiting Esther in Thailand, most of us went to the cemetery in Ashtabula that has the monument for the Ashtabula Train Disaster.
The hymn writer, Philip P Bliss, and his wife died in that accident.
We have driven past this cemetery for years, but this was the first time we ever went there. We want to go back when we have more time and it is a little warmer. And when the ice is melted so that we can actually read the rest of the memorial.

Looking for the Bliss' names among those unrecognized.

It was really pretty that day!
Showing everyone the names.

Going to a cemetery reminds me of how short life is. If I want my life to be worth anything, I need to live my life for Christ every single day. I need to be a woman after God's own heart.

Also, have you ever walked through an older cemetery? Some of the names are pretty cool!
(Can I just say that I always liked the name Kezia and there is a lady with that name buried there!)

The other day, everything was covered with ice and frost, so I took a walk to get some pictures and enjoy the beauty.

By the breath of God frost is given: and the breadth of the waters is straitened.
Job 37:10

While taking these pictures, I found out one of my boots has a hole in it.
😒

"Hath the rain a father? or who hath begotten the drops of dew?
Out of whose womb came the ice? and the hoary frost of heaven, who hath gendered it?
The waters are hid as with a stone, and the face of the deep is frozen."
Job 38:28-30

On a different note, I just finished reading Adorned by Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth. One of my friends and I tried to read a chapter a week and have a weekly phone call to talk about it. It was really good, and very challenging.
It is easy to read a book, but to applying it to everyday life is hard!
I would highly recommend this book, and recommend you find a friend or two to go through it with you.
Christian fellowship, encouragement, and accountability is so important!

We are reading A Woman After God's Own Heart by Elizabeth George now.

I hope you have a great week!!
